Reconciliation operations reviewer
Evidence first. Careful judgment. A clear explanation for every exception.
The role
Support supervised bank-to-ledger diagnostics for accounting teams. Investigate proposed matches, preserve source references and escalate uncertain items. This is an early-stage hiring enquiry; role terms and a start date are agreed before an offer.
What you will do
- Check CSV completeness, dates, signs, currencies and duplicate records.
- Review proposed matches without forcing ambiguous pairs.
- Explain timing differences, fees, missing entries and unsupported batch deposits.
- Record approval or rejection rationale and the evidence still required.
- Work under an agreed reviewer process; client accountants retain accounting decisions and formal sign-off.
What we look for
- Practical bank reconciliation and bookkeeping experience.
- Comfort with Excel or spreadsheets and CSV exports.
- Clear written English, attention to detail and confidentiality.
- CA / CPA qualified, part-qualified or relevant accounting experience; state your actual certification status.
- QuickBooks, Xero or US-bookkeeping experience is useful, not assumed.
No certification is conferred by this role. Candidates do not receive customer workspace access through this form.
Fictional diagnostic exercise
A small test of reviewer judgment
Eight ledger rows. Seven bank rows. September 2026, USD. Suggested time: 15 minutes. Identify supported matches, ambiguous receipts and unmatched entries; calculate activity totals and explain what evidence you would request. No opening balances are supplied, so this is not an ending-balance reconciliation.
Equal signed amounts and currency, within three calendar days; reference evidence takes priority. Do not force a batch match without a breakdown. All records are invented, not unpaid client work.
